Join Your Community On This Year’s National Night Out

August 2nd

Since 1984, communities across the country have come together on the first Tuesday in August to meet their neighbors, connect with local law enforcement, and discuss ways to make their neighborhoods safer.

Many hold block parties, ice cream socials, and barbecues to give everyone a chance to mingle, and first responders often give talks on home and community security, in between handing out stickers to kids and hanging out with residents.

A neighborhood where people know each other and support one another is less likely to fall victim to crime and more likely to be a safe and pleasant place to live. Will you become part of the solution this year?

Visit the National Association of Town Watch website to learn more and check if there’s a National Night Out happening in your neighborhood!

Last year, 16,790 communities from across the 50 states, U.S. territories, and U.S. military bases worldwide came together to cement relationships and discuss crime prevention and safety.
